RECRUITING CAMPAIGN
ADDRESS BY MR. HAMILTON. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WESTPORT, March 19. The Leader of the Opposition, Mr. Hamilton, addressed a large gathering in the Theatre Royal, Westport, this evening, in furtherance of recruiting, and was given a very favourable hearing. Mr. Hamilton said he regretted the serious illness of the Prime Minister. Though he was politically opposed to him, the Prime Minister was one of his best friends. All were working together now in the cause of the Empire. Shortly after his arrival, Mr. Hamilton was afforded an opportunity of seeing bulldozers, treedozers and discers at work in clearing and otherwise improving bush land, and was favourably impressed with what he saw.
