EASTER HOLIDAYS
LATE SHOPPING NIGHT TOMORROW.
RACING & OTHER SPORTS ATTRACTIONS.
On account of the Easter holidays the late shopping night will be observed tomorrow, when the shops will close al 9 o'clock. Butchers and nearly all other retailers, except bakers and fruiterers, will remain closed until Tuesday morning. Bakers and fruiterers, however, will open on Saturday. The principal holiday attraction in the district is the Wairarapa Racing Club’s Easter meeting on Saturday and Monday at the Tauherenikau Racecourse. Several bowling tournaments will also be held, an open tourney at Martinborough on Good Friday, a pairs contest at the Masterton Club green on Saturday and a pairs tourney at the Park Club green on Saturday and Monday. A Wairarapa representative cricket team will proceed to Wellington to play a match there during Easter.
