HIGH CLASS CANDIDATES.
By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright SYDNEY, March 18.
This year's Doncaster Handicap and Sydney Cup contain more high-class candidates than usual. For the Doncaster Handicap likely acceptors include Madura and Geebung, who dominate the market, Beaulivre, Gold Salute, Denis, Bonny Loch, and The Albatross. The only doubtful starter is High Caste, at 9.0, who is being asked to carry 81b. over weight-for-age, and also to meet Mildura, the Newmarket Handicap winner, at 141 b. worse than weight-for-age. The New Zealander, Yours Truly, literally galloped his way last Saturday into favouritism for the Sydney Cup, but Mosaic has also attracted a good following by reason of his second to Reading. The latter has been withdrawn from the Sydney Cup. Gold Suark, Maikai. and Dashing Cavalier are expected to give Yours Truly a hard race. Royal Chief is not exciting much interest, due to his recent indifferent showing.
