MASTERTON CLUB. FOURS COMPETITIONS. The following are results of Club fours played by the Masterton Bowling Club on Saturday:—Vowell, GuthrieSmith, Campbell, Jones (s) beat W. Russell, Holdsworth, Forsyth, Roberts (s) 22/15; Welch, Greenwood, Doughty, P Roberts (s) beat Weller, Connell, Davey, Evans (s) '2O/18; Thurston, J. Russell, Lewis, W. Reid (s) beat Mills, Daniell, Robertson, Hunt (s) 22/18; Malmo, Kerslake, Charleson, Percy, (s) beat Denbee, Reynolds, Bannister, Henderson (s) 23/17; Hyde, McCullough, W. Hendry (s) beat Dunderdale, Forsyth, Carstens (s) 28/18. WEEKEND GAMES MASTERTON v. COMBINED TEAMS. During the week-end games were played between rinks from Martinborough, Greytown and Park against the Masterton Club on the latter’s greens. Every game was keenly contested, the visitors winning by four games to three and by three points in the aggregate. The following are the results, the names of the visiting teams being mentioned first: — Greytown Section. —Nelson, Bowden, Connelly, Carter (s) lost to Vowell, Holdsworth, Charleson, Christian (s), 18/22; Robinson, Bell, Curtis, Kilgour (s) be t Rogers, Holtham, Skeet, E. J. Reid (s), 35/26; Bockett, Day, Wallace, Higginson (s) lost to Davey, Connell. Thurston, Morton (s), 18/29; Brown, Dennes, Shedden, McLeod (s) beat Renall, Hunt, Ewington, Chapman (s), 23/11.
Martinborough Section.—Sadd, McCardle, Casely, Wright (s) lost to Lewis, Wylie, Roberts, Hayne (s) 17/27; Smith, Beveridge, McNully, Knell (s) beat Trevorrow, Haycraft, Bannister, Carstens (s) 21/19.
Park Section. —Drummond, Simpson, Brownlie, Shearer (s) beat Tamblyn, Hearle, Finlayson, Stubbings (s), 27/22. Wairarapa bowlers are reminded of the Masterton Club's progressive pairs tournament to be played on Easter Saturday, commencing at 9 a.m. Champion Rinks Final. (Notes by “The Bowler.”) The final in the champion' rinks of ;he Masterton Club, was played on Saturday afternoon, between A. Hendry, V. Gooding, A. Chapman and C. Perry (s.) and P. Trevorrow, Rogers, Stubbings, and E. Reid (s), and resulted in for Reid’s team by 27 to 18. The green was in perfect order, and the game was a most enjoyable one, end interesting up to about the 15th head, when Reid’s team kept well in the lead. I regret that I cannot give the detailed scores, as other bowlers played on the rink, and rubbed out the figures on the board. I congratulate the winners as they played the better bowls, and the best wishes of the club members will be extended to them on their success in the Wairarapa champion of champion, rinks. The losers are also to be congratulated on their attaining the position of runners-up. Wall Cup. A challenge game for the Wall Cup, between the colts of the Masterton and Pari: clubs, was played on Saturday on the Masterton Club's green. The team representing the Park was Moore, O’Donnell. Andrew and W. Smith (s), and the Masterton team was J. Castro, E. Holtham, Tamblyn and Wylie (s). After an enjoyable game the Park team proved the winners by 30 to 19.
