RAID ON SCAPA FLOW
ENEMY PLANE SHOT DOWN.
MINOR DAMAGE TO ONE WARSHIP

All Admiralty communique states that on Saturday German aircraft raided the British fleet anchorage at Scapa Blow. Fourteen enemy planes reached their objective. A considerable number of bombs were dropped. One of them struck a warship but caused only minor damage.
Bombs were also dropped on land. No military objectives were hit. but one civilian was killed and seven were wounded, including some women. A cottage was damaged.
There were seven casualties among the Navy personnel. Their relatives have been notified.
Ships' batteries, shore defences and aircraft combined to drive off the enemy. One enemy plane was shot down and others are believed to have been damaged.
