COSY THEATRE
| ‘'THANKS FOR THE MEMORY.” I I ' j Paramount’s new romantic comedy, "Thanks for the Memory." will be | seen tonight at the Cosy Theatre. ■ With Bob Hope, Shirley Ross. Charles | Butterworth, Hedda Hopper and Roscoe Karns in the leading roles, the picture tells of two recently married people trying to pay their bills and getting along in face of raids upon all their household facilities by frolicsome friends. The title of this new comedy was inspired by the song of the same name, the one Bob Hope end Shirley Ross sang in "Big Broadcast of 1938.” In this one. they sing a new number called "Two Sleepy People.” Down through the years from the long-remembered "Over the Hill” to “Of Human Hearts” have come a series of motion picture dramas which must be seen with the heart, but never has there been a drama closer to the heart of the average moviegoer than William K. Howard’s production of "Back Door to Heaven,” the companion feature. The story of “Back Door to Heaven” starts with a boy who grows up in a small town. But the pattern of his life is not an even one. He doesn’t fall into the usual job, marry, raise a family, and become* a respectable citizen. He tries though, and Wallace Ford, playing this boy grown to manhood, has one of the best roles of a career marked by outstanding characterisations.
