ATTACK ON NAVAL BASES.

Corporal C. B. G. Knight, the first, member of the Royal New Zealand Air Force decorated since the outbreak of war was awarded the Distinguished Flying Medal for skill, courage and coolness in face of the enemy under intense fire.
As a wireless operator, his maintenance of communications contributed to the success of the operation against the Schilling Roads and Frisian Islands on December 14., 1939.
The High Commissioner (Mr W. J. Jordan) is presenting the medal shortly. Corporal Knight was born in Picton.
