SCHOOL ESSAYS

CENTENNIAL COMPETITION. AN ADDITIONAL CLASS. The addition of another class in the essay competition which is being promoted by the W.F.C.A. for the best essays contributed by children of primary and secondary schools regarding the Centennial Week celebrations in Masterton is announced. The additional class is for Third and Fourth Form pupils at any secondary school, the essay not to exceed 600 words. The W.F.C.A. has agreed to give a first prize of one guinea and second of half a guinea, the same as in the other classes. The other classes are: Primary school children, not more than 400 words; secondary schools (other than 3rd and 4th forms), not more than 800 words. All essays must be in hand by March 29.
