CENTENNIAL CONCERT
THIS EVENING'S PROGRAMME. ITEMS BY MAORIS AND OTHERS. An excellent programme will be presented in the Opera House tonight when a special Centennial concert will include items by a Maori party and by leading local artists. The programme is as follows: — Maori Parly's items. —Action songs of welcome, "Nau Mai." “Tena Ra Koutou”; single poi. (1) slow, (2) fast; duet with chorus, "Pokarekare Ana”; action songs, “He Aha Kei Taku Uma," “Nga Iwi E"; long poi; solo, "Kainga Tupu" (Home, Sweet Home); haka by the men. "Ko Komako,” "Ka Mate, Ka Mate," "Hamua E." “Ngungawai Nei”; canoe poi; action songs, "Akaka" and "Kia Piri Mai”; combination poi; love ditty, "Hoki Hoki Tonu Mai”: farewell song, "Po Ata Ran.” Those taking part in the second half of the programme are: Mrs C. J. Curtin, vocal; Miss J. McKay, piano-ac-cordion; Mrs N. Leadley, elocution; Mr W. Iggulden, vocal; Mr R. G. Gilbert, vocal; Mr Mason, xylophone; Mr F. Price, lightning drawing.
