AT WORK AGAIN
BUSTLE ON THE AUCKLAND WHARVES PROMPT ANSWER TO LABOUR CALL. TWENTY VESSELS MANNED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, This Day. The call for workers was answered promptly on the waterfront today, and by 8.15 all available union labour had been accepted and casual workers were being engaged for some of the vessels which had not had their boards completed. Twenty vessels were manned with 1.155 unionists, of whom about 600 returned to jobs from which they were dismissed last week for refusing to work overtime. Soon after the first call, cranes- were again swinging out. hatch covers were off and men were busily employed loading and unloading cargo. A cheerful atmosphere peivaded the wharves and the men seemed pleased to see the end of a disputewhich had threatened to involve themselves and other workers.
