MONEY FOR WAR PURPOSES. FURTHER ACKNOWLEDGMENTS BY MR. NASH. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. Pleasure at the splendid response to his recent appeal for free-of-intefest loans for war purposes was expressed by the Minister of Finance, Mr. Nash, in an interview last evening. Following is a further list of citizens who have forwarded cheques for loans free of interest, the period of the loan being stated in each case: — H. V. In addition to the above two straightout donations of £lO each have been received and one woman Savings Bank depositor has offered her savings of £2O, free-of-interest, for the duration of the war. At last night’s meeting of the Wellington Mercantile Cricket League it was decided to offer to the Government on loan for war purposes the sum of £lOO. free of interest for the duration of the war and twelve months thereafter.
