WOOL PROCEEDS
AUCKLAND DISTRIBUTION. BIG INCREASE OVER LAST YEAR. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND. March 11. About £236.000 will be distributed to woolgrowers throughout the Auckland province tomorrow, which is the prompt date of the fourth appraisal for the British Government under the wartime purchase plan, held on February 26 and 27. With the £1.078.000 already received by growers this season, this will bring the total realisation so far to £1,314.000. This is already £252.257 more than the cheque of £1,061.743 received for the whole of last season. The final appraisal of the season in Auckland will be hold on April 1. In the four appraisals already held 76.504 bales have been dealt with. The total number of bales sold last season was 85,442 and, though it is expected that the clip in the Auckland province will be smaller, there should still be about 7000 or 8000 bales left for the final fixture. On this assumption the full season's distribution should be little short of the record cheque of £1.528.545 received in the 1936-37 season.
