BABIES ON THE SCREEN
CENTENNIAL CONTEST. IN AID OF ORDER OF ST JOHN. Entries for the New Zealand Centennial baby contest, conducted by the St John Ambulance organisation', are now being received by the manager ol the Regent Theatre. The competition, which carries a national prize of JISOO with £250 second prize, is open to all babies born on or after June 1. 1937. The entrance fee of 5s entitles the entrant Io 10 feet of film and a postcard size enlarged photograph. Every endeavour is being made to see that a Masterion baby is to be in the final. The thrill of seeing their children on the screen no doubt will appeal to parents. The film will be screened at the Cosy Theatre, commencing on April 12. Judging will be by popular vote of the audience. As large numbers of entries are anticipated. parents arc urged to make arrangements with tlio manager of the Regent Theatre as soon as possible. Entries are now being taken and will close on March 18.
