TASMAN AIR SERVICE
AWARUA DUE TO ARRIVE SHORTLY.
(By- Telegraph—Press Association.) AUCKLAND, March 11
When the flying-boat Awarua, the sister ship of the Aotearoa, begins her delivery flight from England to New Zealand before long she will follow approximately the same route as that taken by the Aotearoa last year, according to Mr F. Maurice Clarke, manager of Union Airways, who has returned after a business visit to Sydney. My Clarke visited Australia in connection with the forthcoming inauguration of the Tasman air service and discussed with Quantas Airways aspects of the service, including fares and schedules.
Although he was unable to reveal the arrangements made Mr Clarke said they were satisfactory. He was also unable because of the war regulations to discuss the date of the departure of the Awarua from England. In addition to her regular crew the Awarua would bring to New Zealand an air crew expert to join the engineering staff. Both machines will be based at Auckland.
