GREYTOWN
BOWLING GAMES DURING THE WEEKEND. (“Times-Age” Special.) During the weekend there was a good attendance of members on the Greytown Bowling Club’s green. In' a match for the Gold Bars Carter and Brunton secured a win over Nightingale and Higgison. Brunton again prov: ed himself by scoring three fours by his driving. As Brunton is going on holidays, the present holders of the Gold Bars are Connolly and Carter who defeated Wallace and Curtis after a close game. The Dennes Medal has changed hands again. T. Connolly defeated J. Burden after a hard game. Rugby. The annual meeting of the Greytown Football Club is to be held shortly. Although Greytown will be short of several of last year’s players, who are on active service, it is considered that they will still be able to enter a senior team, provided players can be secured from Featherston and Martinborough districts. Patriotic Meeting. All the local institutions have been asked to send a representative to the meeting of the Greytown Patriotic Committee, which meets on Tuesday evening to launch the Salvation Army and Y.M.C.A.' appeal for funds. Mushrooms. Although there has been little rain mushrooms are fairly plentiful. Croquet. In the Gold Buttons game played on Saturday by the Greytown Croquet Club Mesdames Horton and Brunton beat Mesdames Cartel' and Stevens. Personal. Mr W. Olli ver, of Gisborne, was a visitor to the Greytown green during the weekend.
