The shoot-off for first place in the W. Johnson trophy contest resulted in a win for I. Feast by 21 points from L. G. Benton. CHILD SCALDED ACCIDENT ON SATURDAY. Through pulling a kettle of boiling water on to himself on Saturday, a child of about four years of age, Don Fraser, was severely scalded on the arm, side and body. The little sufferer was attended to by Dr Sharp. Although suffering from shock, the child is making satisfactory progress. CROQUET MATCH FOR HAUNUI BUTTONS In a croquet match played during the week for the Haunui Buttons, the holders, Mrs Barry and Miss Esma Card, defeated the challengers, Mrs Finlayson and Mrs Donnelly (MasterI ton), 26713. Personal. Mr John Wilson, Wellington, paid a brief visit to Featherston yesterday. Mr Wilson expects to go into camp shortly. The many friends of Mr Jack Hatton, who is at present in Greytown Hospital, will regret to hear that his condition is causing anxiety.
