PERSONAL

Messrs. O. and ,R. Williams were guests from Woodville at the Prince of Wales Hotel, Masterton, at the weekend. Mr W. J. Wesney, chairman of the Otautau (Southland) Town Board, was the guest of Mr and Mrs G. Daubney, Masterton, during the weekend. Feilding guests at the Prince of Wales Hotel. Masterton. during the week-end were Messrs. D. Hight, N. Raven. R. Trass, L. Rymaker and A. Packer.

Mr Harry Hall, who has been under medical treatment at the Bowen Street Hospital, Wellington, returned to Masterton yesterday. He underwent his third and final operation recently. The operation was a complete success.

Mr P. Harle. a public accountant. Wellington, has been appointed to represent the Australasian Institute of Cost Accountants on the standards committee set up by the Department of Industries and Commerce to prepare a New Zealand standard code of cost accounting terminology. • Mr Richard Griffiths, a former Wellington resident, is United Australia Party candidate for the electorate of Coburg in the forthcoming Victorian State election. In New Zealand he was a member of the Institute of Accountants and a keen yachtsman. He took up residence in Australia in 1911. establishing a successful manufacturing business, from which he retired 10 years ago.
