SHOT DOWN TO SINK IN SEA

A German Heinkel raider which was attacked by Spitfires of the Royal Ail' Force Command was shot down from a height of more than five miles above the sda east of Aberdeen this afternoon. The Spitfires’ pilots, one of whoir was a Now Zealander w. re on patrol when they first sighted the Reinke! They attacked in turns as then enemy dived, closing in for each of machine-gun fire.
The Heinkel, on I of action, landed on the water and the- Spitfire pilots circled about watching for live minutes until the Tfeinl’.e) sank.
