SAFETY OF CHILDREN

LONDON EVACUATION PLANS. (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, March 6. The plan for a second evacuation of children from London, announced on Wednesday, is to cover a larger area than that carried out at the beginning of the war. The scheme applies only to school children over five years old. who will be evacuated only when the Government considers events require it. The plans will take six days to carry out.

There are some 450,000 schoolchildren in London available for registration for evacuation. Among them are some 100 000 who were evacuated lasi September but who returned. There are still about 150.000 who have been in the reception areas since the first week of the war.
