The increased price of gold has given a great impetus to the goldmining industry in Australia, said Mr R. J. Lemmon, consulting field metallurgist, when passing through Auckland by the Mariposa on his way to America. Both Kalgoorlie and Coolgardie were now scenes of great activity. Mr Lemmon added, while much interest was being taken in the Tennant Creek field in Central Australia, where a lode formation of high-grade ore had been found.
