AUSTRALIAN BUSH FIRES.—The terrific heat wave and bush tires which swept through the State of New South Wales destroyed many homes and valuable grazing grounds. Twelve deaths were recorded. With his liquid sprayer strapped to his back, a fire fighter works in intense heat as wind drives flames through scrub near Sutton Forest. Hundreds of volunteers saved the Government pine forest in that area from destruction.
