FEBRUARY APPRAISEMENT WELLINGTON DISPOSAL. INCREASED RETURN RECORDED. I ' I (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The gross proceeds of the February appraisement of greasy wool in Wellington amounted to £654.498 for the 34,401 bales sold. This represents an ' average of £l9 Os Gd a bale and 12.496 d a lb. In addition, 31 bales of scoured wool were sold, the gross proceeds being £594 15s 9d. which is an average of £l9 3s 9d a bale and 16.853 d a lb. The total gross proceeds, greasy and scoured, for the February appraisement were £655,092 19s 4d. The total gross proceeds of the greasy wool sold under the three appraisements held in Wellington this season are £1.649.766, which compares with £1,085,219 for the corresponding auctions last season and £990,926 for those of the 1937-38 season.
