PAHIATUA SALE

Messrs Dalgety and Co Ltd report a total clearance and very satisfactory prices at the Pahiatua weekly sale yesterday, when a good yarding of all classes of sheep were penned to a large attendance of buyers. Prices for breeding ewes were generally on a par with late rates, but on the other hand, store lambs and wethers hardened in price considerably. Competition on the wethers was keen from the outset, and advanced as the sale progressed. Stor 2th wether made from 18s to 19s 9d. while 2 and 4-tooths made to 20s 6d; and 4th wethers in good forward condition realised up to 22s Id. Shorn wether lambs made 15s 6d to 16s, smaller sorts 14s to 15s Id, medium' woolly w lambs 14s 6d to 15s 6d, others 12s 6d to 13s. M.A. breeding ewes to 275, others 20s 3d to 255. 5-year ewes from 15s 9d to 16s 6d. to 18s 9d.
