The Second Echelon at Trentham was inspected by the Gover-nor-General (Viscount Galway) this morning. The parade was under the command of Colonel J. Hargest, O.C. Fifth Infantry Brigade. ft consisted of the 22nd Wellington Battalion, 32 officers and 554 other ranks, under Lieut.-Colonel Andrew, V.C.. brigaded units including Divisional Signals, under Major Barry: the Ist New Zealand General Hospital, eight officers and 155 other ranks, under Lieutenants Colonel McKillop. and the Ist New Zealand Convalescent Depot, four officers and 47 other ranks, under Lieutenant-Colonel Spencer, New Zealand Army Nursing Service. 3; total. 83 officers and 1.512 other

The Camp Band paraded and played the march past. Addressing the parade. Lord Galway said it. was an excellent turnout, and the very good march past showed the efficiency and keenness of all. They were worthy successors of the First Echelon. lie extended most cordial good wishes for a happy and successful voyage. He said the training they had undergone and the further training they would undergo in Egypt would tit them to play their part as worthy successors to the New Zealand Division of 1914-18. and when the present struggle developed they would maintain those traditions and if necessary add to them.

Colonel Hargest thanked all units for their part in’the parade and commented on their steadiness and smart tippearance. Ho added, in case ho did not have an opportunity to speak to them again before they went on final leave, that he desired to wish them good luck and hoped they would enjoy the leave they very much deserved.
