GENEROUS GIFT
MADE BY MR J. R. MCKENZIE SUM OF £lOO.OOO FOR CHARITY AND EDUCATION. ADMINISTRATION BY TRUST. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) PALMERSTON NORTH. This Day. It was finnminml by Mr J. If. McKenzie, Christchurch, at the New Zealand Rotary Clubs’ eonrerenee, that to mark the Centenary year, he had made a gift of £lOO,OOO for charitable and eduealional purposes within New Zealand. The fund is to be administered by a trust, the objects being - to render assistance to New Zealand disabled soldiers and sailors, the I’lnnket Society. ailing and delicate children, and also general charitable purposes. Mr McKenzie guarantees the trust an income of £5,000 a year during his lifetime.
