GOLF CHAMPIONSHIPS
ABANDONED DURING WAR. DOMINION COUNCIL'S DECISION. (By Telegraph—Press Asociation.) WELLINGTON, This Day. The council of the New Zealand Golf Association decided at its meeting in Wellington last night to abandon all championship tournaments for the duration of the war. This, of course, includes the tournament which was te have been held at Middlemore this year. The North and South Island amateur championships will be played this month as arranged, but will thereafter be cancelled.
