UNLUCKY BOMBER
BRITISH MACHINE DESTROYED IN ERROR. SWIFT ATTACK BY FIGHTERS. By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright. LONDON. Marell 2. It is reported that in the accidental destruction of a British plane in Hit' neighbourhood of Gravesend, fighters swooped up from an East Coast station and attacked a British bomber that was flying southward, mistaking it foi' a German. An eyewitness said that the fighters circled and machine-gunned Hie bomber, setting lire tn its wings. Flames enveloped the whole plane. Which began to disintegrate. The tail dropped oil' before the machine crashed on a farm at Meopham. scattering the engines and component parts over the fields.
