RACING ON BEACH
CASTLEPOINT CLUB’S ANNUAL MEETING BEAUTIFUL WEATHER AND GOOD SPORT. PAHIATUA RIDER SECURES FOUR FIRSTS. (“Times-Age” Special.) The fourth annual meeting of the Castlepoint Racing Club was held on the Castlepoint Beach on Saturday in gloriously fine weather. The beach was in splendid order for racing, but the effect of petrol restrictions and general war conditions severely affected the attendance, there being about 400 present. Mr H. Blunden, of Pahiatua had a successful day. riding four firsts home out of the seven races. Details of the racing are as follows: Maiden Plate. 15 furlongs: E. Olsen's Oete (H. Blunden) 1; Miss Beetham's Te Rama 2; D. Wilson's False Witness Ladies' Bracelet, 7 furlongs: Mrs Bicknell's Greek Arma (H. Blunden), 1: Miss V. Nelson’s Iluka 2; Mrs Olsen's Oete 3.
