NATIONAL PATRIOTIC FUND

RESPONSE BY W.F.C.A. BRANCHES. The general manager of the W.F.C.A., Ltd. Mr J. 11. Cumiingham, has been advised by the manager of the Pahiatua branch, in reply to a circular letter that the proposal that each branch should make a do nation by a collective stall' elfort to the National Services Fighting Fund sponsored by the Salvation Army and the Y.M.C.A. has met with a splendid response in Pahiatua, where between £25 and £3O is expected to be raised by the staff. A start, lias been made al Masterton and a sum of at least £4O is expected to be forthcoming. Other branches 'are doing likewise. The donations, which are purely voluntary, are spread over a period by the company, where required, the amount being paid in by the company and later repaid from salary. By this means there has been a wonderful response to the appeal. IL is anticipated that other business houses will follow the generous action of the W.F.C.A. for such a worthy cause. FEATHERSTON DONATIONS. The Town Clerk of Featherston. Mr H. Rolls, has sent a cheque for £lO5 ss. to the secretary of the district committee. Mr G. T. O'Hara Smith, being donations to the Patriotic Funds received from the following: Wairarapa Racing Club, £5O (National Fund), and £5O (Provincial Fund); Wairarapa Concrete Coy £5 5s (Provincial Fund).
