NEW YORK, February 29. Mr Clement Williams defied the censorship when the National Broadcasting Corporation wanted the Maori word “piupiu” omitted from the broad-
cast, on the grounds of decency, in Alfred Hill's song “Waiata Poi." Mr Williams explained that "piupiu” meant grass skirt, but the officials are still dubious. .
