CARTERTON SALE
Messrs Wright, Stephenson and Co. Ltd, report A good yarding of sheep, cattle and pigs came forward at Cartel - ton sale yesterday and was offered to a large attendance. Prices were on a par with late rates and practically a total clearance was effected. The following are some of the realisations.Sheep: Fat ewes, 14s to 15s; fat lambs, 19s 2d. 20s to 20s 2d; fat b.f.’s, to 15s; 2th wethers, to 17s 6d b.f. lambs, Ils 3d, 13s to 13s Id; woolly wether lambs, Ils lOd to 12s 6d; woolly wether lambs (small), 7s 2d, 8s 3d, 9s to 9s 6d; small ewe lambs, to Ils 6d; forward ewes, 7s 8d to 10s 6d; store ewes, 2s 9d, 4s 9d, 6s 6d to 7s 7d; m.a. ewes, 12s to 13s; 4yr ewes, to 19s; small 2th ewes, 17s 6d to 20s 6d; 4th ewes, to 26s 9d; S.D. rams, lgn to 2Jgns; cull rams, 5s to 10s.
Cattle: Heifers on drop, £8 15s to £10; cow, just calved, to ,£6 10s; fat cows, £5 to £6 10s; fwd dows, £3 15s to £4 16s; store cows, £2 5s to £3 7s 6d; cull cows, 20s to 365; weaner Jersey heifers, to £2; ylg Jersey heifers, to £3 15s; cows and calves, £4 to £5; bulls, £4 10s to £6 17s 6d.
Pigs: Weaners (good), 9s to 12s 6d. (medium) 7s to 8s 6d, (small) 5s to 6s 6d; store pigs, 20s 6d to 235; slips, 16?. to 18s 6d; light porkers, 28s to 325; porkers, 35s to £2 ss; baconers, £2 15s to £3 ss; choppers, to 40s.
