CHURCH SERVICES

Tomorrow is Melanesian Mission Sunday. The Holy Communion will be celebrated at 8 a.m. and 11 a.m. at St. Matthew’s. The Rev. T. V. Pearson will preach in the morning, and the Ven. Archdeacon E. J. Rich in the evening. There will be a service at Taueru in the afternoon, and at Kuripuni at 7 p.m. The services of the Masterton Baptist Fellowship, to be held in the Y.M.C.A. tomorrow, will be conducted at 11 a.m. by the Rev. G. T. Beilby, of the Island Bay Baptist Church, and at 7 p.m. by Mr A. Handyside. A meeting of importance to Fellowship members will be held on Tuesday, March 5, at the usual time and place. A special invitation is extended to scholars to attend the Sunday school, and likewise adults | to the services. The services in the Methodist Church tomorrow will be conducted by the Rev. Fred. J. Parker. Mr Parker has just returned from the annual conference of the church in Dunedin, and will speak at the morning service on “The Spiritual Pulse of the Conference,” and in the evening on “The High Line of Christian Duty.” The Methodist Church service at Kuripuni will be held at 7 p.m., and will be conducted by Mr F. G. Rutter. The Methodist service at Wangaehu will be held at 2.30 p.m., the Rev. Fred. J. Parker being the preacher. The services- at the Salvation Army tomorrow will be condutced by Major and Mrs Mahaffie. They will take the form of farewell services to Candidate A. Fordyce*, who is leaving for the Army’s Training College in Wellington. The candidate wil speak at each service. Brother Adderson will be the speaker at the morning service, and in the evening Major Mahiffie will take for his subject, “The Safe Course Through Life.” All are heartily invited to the Army’s services.
