After the- arrival of- MT’ Sumner Welles; American Assistant Secretary of State, the Berlin Official News Agency issued- a statement' that the war will continue- until Germany secures her vital lebensraum (living space) and freedom of the seas. The News- Agency proceeds to strike a balance of- six months’ war, including German measures against the blockade which are beginning, it states, to put Englund in the position in which she vainly tried to put Germany. The German Army is ready for a. decisive blow which will put in the shade all existing conceptions of military striking power. The. Agency adds that neutrals will be sacrificed if they allow themselves to become Britain's auxiliaries, which will not compensate the Allies for what Germany has gained in Russian-German friendship. This keeps Germany's back free and also guarantees Germans against starvation.
Leading Nazi officials and gaulcitcrs are arriving in-Berlin for a conference. Inspired Nazi comment emphasises that Germany is" not making’ a peace offer and adds- that the Gorman Air Force is ready for action and waiting’ for Ihe word of command.
