A plea for support of the Forest and Bird Protection Society was made at the Accountants’ Convention at Wellington. by Mr J. S. Thompson, of Blenheim. He remarked that the Society was doing very important national work in its campaigns for the protection of native forests and birds and in educating the public on the vital matter of erosion which was gradually whittling away the national estate. The chairman (Mr W. R. Brown. Dunedin), replied that as a member of the society, he knew well the far-reaching value of its continuous activities.
