In honour of Captain W. E. Parry’s part in the naval battle with the German pocket battleship Graf Spec, a meeting of the executive of the Castor Bay Ratepayers’ Association, Auckland, decided to rename one of its streets Parry Avenue. The street chosen is Beach Road, running between the main highway and Seaview Road, and, as there is another street in the district with a similar name, the alteration will eliminate confusion. The change is subject to the approval of the Waitemata County Council.
