Fewer students are expected at Canterbury Agricultural College this year because of the war and the shortage of farm labour. The director (Professor E. R. Hudson), in a report to the board of the college, reported:— “All courses are due to start on February 29 and it is apparent that the numbers entering the diploma course will be substantially reduced. This is to be expected owing to the combined effect of the war and the shortage of skilled farm labour which make it difficult for farmers to release their sons to take the course.”
