The Vatican has released President Roosevelt's letter to the Pope simultaneously with a letter nominating Mr Myron Taylor as the President’s persona] ambassador to the Vatican. President Roosevelt reminded the Pope of his suggestion to despatch a personal representative, in order to promote American-Italian efforts to secure peace and alleviate, suffering. President Rposcvelt hoped Mr Taylor would be a channel for the exchange of views promoting international concord and the re-establishment of more permanent, peace, based upon freedom and an assurance of the life and integrity of all nations under God. The Papal court received Mr Taylor with traditional ambassadorial ceremony.
