APPEAL FOR RECRUITS
SUPPORTED BV THE R.S.A.
PRINCIPLE OF COMPULSION UPHELD.
BUT PRESENT POSITION ACCEPTED.
(By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. A meeting of the Dominion Executive Committee of the New Zealand Returned Soldiers’ Association has adopted a resolution urging all associations throughout New Zealand to assist in making the present recruiting campaign a success. The resolution, while not departing from the principle of urging a system of compulsory national service, laid down at the annual meeting of the R.S.A. in 1939, nevertheless recognises that the present policy of the Government is to enlist the Second N.Z.E.F. on the voluntary system and stresses the fact that New Zealand must play her part in the present struggle and that reinforcements must be found for Ihe men who proceed overseas.
