Again unable to stand up to the fast bowling of Pritchard, who took seven wickets for 22 runs in the second innings, Wanganui were soundly beaten by Manawatu in a challenge cricket match for the Hawke Cup by an innings and 122 runs. When play was resumed this morning the wicket was soft after rain during the night, and the batsmen who went out to continue Wanganui’s second innings were immediately in difficulties.
