WEDDING
BOCKETT — SADLER. The marriage took place at the Greyi town Methodist Church on Saturday evening, February 24, of Joan, second daughter of Mr and Mrs W. H. Sadler, of Tauherenikau. and Bradley, son of Mr and Mrs Bockett, of Western Lake. The Rev H. E. Harkness officiated and Mrs M. Greathead presided at the organ. The service was fully choral. The bride was dressed in a frock of terra brick georgette and wore an old gold chain lent by a friend of the family. The matron of honour was Mrs G. Sadler and the bridesmaid was Miss Joyce Bockett. Both wore frocks of lettuce green georgette, with shoulder veil and Juliette caps. Mr J. Sadler, of the Air Force, was best man and Mr Ken Wakelin groomsman. Mrs Sadler, mother of the bride, wore a navy blue lace coat over a figured frock. Mrs Bockett, mother of the bridegroom, wore a frock of brown and a coat to match. A reception was held in the Sunday School room and amongst those present were Miss Coxon (Wellington), Mr and Mrs Brill (Palmerston North), Mr D. Bockett (Ashhurst), Mr and Mrs Holdcroft (Ashhurst), Miss W. Sadler (Wellington). Mrs V. Wakelin (Wellington), Miss N. Sadler (Palmerston North), Miss Cumming (Plimmerton) and Mr Ward (Wellington). The happy couple left by motor for a tour of the North Island. The bride travelled in a navy blue costume with hat and shoes to match. The bridegroom’s gift to the bride was a fur stole necklet. Their future home will be in Wellington.
