Bound tor Sydney. F. I). Jones will leave Wellington soon for Sydney with Royal Chief and Moorsotis. Moor,soli:-: is to be handed over on arrival at Sydney and Jones will have the unusual experience of ’naving only one horse to look after during his slay in Sydney. Next Appearance of Capricious. Capricious was expected to have tier next race in tin' Peninsula Cup. but will probably be reserved for the Groat Autumn Handicap. Marshall Hall Fails. In spite of the fact that he is trained on the course. Hie two-year-old Marshall Hall did not race kindly the left-handed way in the .Juvenile Handicap at Te Rapa, boring out badly and running much below expectations. Apparently he is more at home when going right-handed, as he ran two very promising races lor a fourth and a third at Ellerslie. Marshall Hall had another opportunity on a right-handed track in the Juvenile Handicap at Te Aroha on Saturday but again failed. '
Bloodstock Sale. /X sale of bloodstock was held at Wingatui on Friday, 22 lots being catalogued. Praise for Uenuku.
The Auckland pace)' Uenuku greatly impressed the critics at his first appearance in Perth. Mr Harold Bailey, writing in the "Australian Trotting Record." stated that the victory of Uenuku in the Launceston Handicap, one mile and five furlongs, at Gloucester Park a few nights before the opening of the Championship Carnival, was so impressive that he at once came into favour.
Uenuku was a strong overnight fancy for the third division of the Mile Championship, but when it became known next day that he was lame he receded a few points. In spite of the lameness, Uenuku won very convincingly in 2.8. He displayed rare courage, as it was only with difficulty that he .was able to reach the weighing enclosure after pulling up. This, added Mr Bailey, was bad luck for McMillan, as Uenuku appeared likely to take a lot of beating in the other heats and linal.
On the night that Uenuku won his heat the former Auckland-owned traitor Golden Eagle scored in the unhoppled handicap, returning a large dividend.

A Smart Two-year-old. The manner in which Gaymiss scored in her two races at Te Rapa was very impressive, and her excellent performance in winning the Juvenile Handicap at Te Aroha on Saturday, in spite of the fact that she had been rehandicapped to 9.3. demonstrates that she is a smart youngster. Gaymiss is a tinelooking filly by Raceful from Diamond Maid, by Arausio from Diamond Moon, by Kilboy from Hope Diamond, by Royal Artillery. It is a branch of the No. 3 family that has produced some useful winners, among them being the splendid weight-carrier. Parisian Diamond, who scored in the Auckland Easter Handicap and other good races, and Sauci. Parisian Diamond and Sauci were both out of Hope Diamond.
