GOLD MINING RETURNS.
Mossy Creek dredge return was 29 ounces from 7466 cubic yards worked in 134 hours.
Maori Gold Limited reports that its new dredge at Callaghans is now operating on three shifts and though occasional stoppages for adjustments are anticipated till the machinery is properly run in, it is not expected that there will be any serious hold-up in dredging operations. As was anticipated, the ground is proving very hard and some big stones are being met with but the dredge is functioning well and whilst for a time the yardage treated will be small it is expected later on to deal with a fair average yardage each week. The first washup will probably’ take place at the end of this week. The Mataki dredge return for the week ended February 23, was 20 ounces from 10.000 cubic yards worked in 134 hours.
