COSY THEATRE

“NO LIMIT.” The hilarious A.T.F. comedy, "No Limit." which will be shown at the Cosy Theatre tonight, brings to the screen for the first time a brilliant new comedy team in George Formby and Florence Desmond. George Formby has for long been recognised as one of the greatest stage comedians in England. He has been touring the length and breadth of the country for many years I now, and everywhere he goes he meets I with tremendous success. He has withstood the call' to the screen until this pressing offer from A.T.P. came along. The result will certainly give him no cause to regret his decision. Florence Desmond has a style of comedy all her own. She can lay claim to being the world’s greatest impersonator, her impersonations of famous Hollywood stars being positively uncanny. Most people have heard her doing these on the records, and also in previous films, such as “Radio Parade of 1935” and “Gay Love.” But she has plenty of acting ability, quite apart from the accomplishment, and she always welcomes an opportunity of displaying it. This is pricisely why she was so enthusiastic about her role in “No Limit.” It is a great part, and the spirited Florence gives a really dashing performance. Mystery, drama, suspense are the ingredients which go to make “13th Man,” the other feature, starring Weldon Heyburn and Inez Courtney, the most thrilling mystery crime drama of the year. When Sutherland, ambitious District Attorney, states* publicly that he will name the 13th big racketeer in the near future, having already named 12, he mysteriously dies from a heart attack. Swiftly Taylor and Jimmy Moran believe that he was murdered and their investigation prove true. Weldon Heyburn plays Swifty Taylor with vigour and sincerity, and Inez Courtney ic his attractive and equally efficient secretary. Milburn Stone plays the role of James Moran, while William Gould is the unfortunate Sutherland.
