CALL AT BERMUDA
CUT OUT BY PAN=AMERICAN AIRWAYS FROM MARCH 15 ONWARDS. WEATHER-RECORDING VESSELS IN MID-ATLANTIC. By Telegraph—Press Association—Copyright. (Received This Dav, 12.30 p.m.) NEW YORK, February 25. Pan-American Airways announced that after March 15 it expects to omit Bermuda in trans-Atlantic flights to Europe. Pan-American Airways explained that it was placing two vessels in mid-Atlantic to furnish' weather reports and that this enabled the elimination of the call, at Bermuda. The announcement did not mention the British inspection of United States mails at Bermuda, which caused a storm of protest, but it is assumed that this is an important factor in the decision. After March 15, the clippers will leave in the middle of the afternoon instead of early in the morning. affording a five-hour saving in transit time, which will permit of arrival in Europe on the following afternoon at the customary time.
