PICNICS INDOORS

METHODIST AND KNOX CHURCH CHILDREN. The wet weather today drove wouldbe picnickers indoors. Both the Methodist and Knox Church Sunday Schoo) children had planned to hold their annual picnics outdoors today, but as this was impossible on account of rain the gatherings were held indoors. The Methodist children had the use of their own Sunday School building. Y.M.C.A. and the old "Daily Times” building, while Knox youngsters were accommodated in the commodious Sunday School rooms. In spite of the interference with the original plans, the children thoroughly enjoyed themselves with games, competitions and other diversions.

OTHER EVENTS BEING HELD. LABOUR PICNIC AND GLADSTONE SPORTS. Not daunted by the rain, the Gladstone Sports are being held today, as arranged. The annual -picnic of the Wairarapa Labour Representation Committee at Tauherenikau Racecourse is also being held.
