PIPE BAND CONTEST

GATHERING AT FEILDING. The Pipe Band Contest Io be held at Feilding on Saturday next will bo the annual contest of the WellingtonHawke’s Bay Pipe Band Centre. Four A grade bands have entered, Ruahine, Manawatu Scottish. Wanganui and Wellington Caledonian, and seven B grade bands. City of Wellington. Feilding, Regimental Pipes and Drums, Wairarapa College, Scots College. Wanganui College and Dannevirke High School. In addition, the newly-formed Horowhenua Pipe Band will compete in the street inarch. Since it is an open contest, spectators will have the unusual opportunity of witnessing Hie Dominion A grade champion. Ruahine, and B grade champions. Wairarapa College, competing against each other. The public may rest assured that Wairarapa boys will do their utmost to uphold the reputation they have gained for always givini', a finished display.
