A scheme arranged by the Seddon Memorial Technical College (Auckland) whereby boys could work on farms during vacations proved very popular in the Christmas holidays. Reporting to a meeting of the board of managers of the college, the principal (Mr G. J. Park) said it was felt the scheme would be of great, assistance to the farming community at a time when primary production was of groat importance in the country. Contact was made with a number of farmers in the province and 55 boys were placed lor periods ranging from four to seven woks. Apart from those for whom the college found places there were an equal number of boys who had made private arrangements.
