N.Z. CHAMPIONSHIPS B GRADE FIRST TEST. LEADERS ANNOUNCED. (By Telegraph—Press Association.) WELLINGTON. This Day. At the conclusion of yesterday's performances in the New Zealand Centennial Brass Bands championships, the chief musical adjudicator, Mr Frank Wright, L.R.S.M., M.R.S.T.. London, announced in the Wellington Town Hall that the three top bands in the B grade First Test Selection were Hamilton Citizens’ Band, Wellington Boys' Institute Band, and Christchurch Municipal Band. That, however, was not necessarily the order of merit. Results:— B grade. First Test Selection. Spohr's ‘■Faust" (Greenwood). First three bands: Hamilton Citizens' Band (conductor, Mr F. Rear). Wellington Boys' Institute Band (Mr A. Iremonger). Christchurch Municipal Band (Mr R. Simpson). Other competitors: Feilding Municipal Band, Lower Hutt CivicBand, Lower Hutt Municipal Band, Napier Citizens’ Band. Nelson Garrison Band, Oamaru Garrison Band. Stratford Citizens' Band.
