GREYTOWN
PERSONAL ITEMS (“Times-Age” Special.) Mr and Mrs T. Gold have returned from a holiday spent at Wellington. Mr and Mrs J. W. Barnard returned to Greytown last evening, after a holiday spent in various parts. Centennial Celebrations. Saturday is certainly going to be “Greytown's Day.” Already the town is being gaily decorated with flags and bunting, and when the whole scheme is completed an atmosphere in keeping with the celebrations will be created. The apearance of the Trentham Military Band in a parade of returned soldiers. from all parts of the Wairarapa, veterans of other wars, Scouts and Guides, should have an influence on the recruiting movement. The procession will also include children on decorated bicycles and ponies and in fancy and old-time dresses. The organiser has received word that the Wellington Early Settlers’ and Historical Society will hold its annual re-union on the Park grounds in order to participate in the celebrations. Buses will convey about 50 members from Wellington and the Hutt district and they will be joined by the Wairarapa members. The various Friendly Societies i are asked to join in the parade.
