The urban area experienced the first frost of the year this morning, when 0.4 degrees was recorded, but the reading at Wigram was 3.1 degrees. Growers of cucumbers, pumpkins and marrows suffered severe losses in the Harewood and Marshland districts btu apple crops were not. affected.
